World Candlelighting Service

Hospice of North Central Ohio and the Parents Grief Group invite everyone in North Central Ohio communities to join in a Worldwide Candle Lighting Event, Sunday, December 13, to remember children who have died. This event allows bereaved families around the world to share their loss and remember their children… so that their lights may always shine. This event is held at 7:00 p.m. for one hour in every time zone to recreate a 24-hour wave of light that encircles the globe to honor and remember all children who have died. As candles go out in one time zone, they are lit in the next, to create a virtual 24-hour memorial light to encircle the globe. Locally, this special candle light gathering will be held Sunday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Salvation Army Ray and Joan Kroc Community Center for anyone wishing to share in this remembrance. The Salvation Army is located at 527 E. Liberty St., Ashland. Music will begin at 6:30 p.m. A space will also be provided to display a framed picture of your child during the service and then returned to you at the end of the service.
