Roy Messing is director of the Ohio Employee Ownership Center at Kent State University. Since 2008 he has developed ESOPs and other worker-owned businesses and has been involved in the Business Succession Planning Program. Previously he was a community-based lender with Farm Credit Services of West Michigan, CFO for Montville Plastics and Rubber Company, and before that spent 23 years in finance/commercial banking. He has a BS in Agricultural Economics from Michigan State University and an MBA from the University of Dayton. In 2010, Roy received his Certified Exit Planning Advisor designation to better serve companies who are planning the transition of their business.
