Description
Leading in Changing Times
With Chris Hiner, Director of Home Lending for Park National Bank
Financial Services Executive, Chris Hiner, will be presenting Leading in Changing Times on March 11 at 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. His expertise in working effectively with large groups of people makes him one of the most qualified presenters to speak on improving leadership amid difficult situations. Hiner will discuss a wide range of topics such as understanding where you are and where you want your organization to go, becoming comfortable outside of your comfort zone, and being willing to change course midstream. He will touch on understanding the ‘Why’ of what you’re doing, being willing to embrace technology to achieve greater goals, and changing incrementally if needed (hello Zoom). Some other points that Hiner is eager to share are having the cadence to check in with yourself and those around you, understanding that leading isn’t always easy, holding traditions but not letting those traditions stop you from evolving, and embracing this magical journey that is your career.
Born and raised in Orrville, OH, Hiner graduated from Muskingum University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Geology. He later attended the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin. He furthered his education with the Ohio Bankers League School of Consumer Lending Essentials and Branch Manager Certification. Hiner is well-versed in staff development, risk management, and revenue generation, among other things. He currently oversees the multibillion-dollar portfolio of Park National Bank in Newark, OH as the Director of Home Lending and holds the position of Market President for Richland Bank.
A vital part of the Richland community, Hiner is a Board Member for the Chamber and RCDG, City of Mansfield Fair Housing Commission, the North Central State College Foundation, and the North End Community Improvement Collaborative. He is the Vice Chairman for the Richland County Growth Corporation and a Richland County Foundation Trustee. In addition, Hiner is a Co-Chair for the Richland County Task Force on Racism Housing and a United Way Richland County Campaign Chairman and Board Member. We would like to thank Chris Hiner for his dedication to improving the community and being part of our Microlearning Series.
