FREE BOATING PROGRAM FOR 6-9 GRADERS Butler OH - A free boating education program is available to area students through Mohican School in the Out-of-Doors. Students in grades 6 - 9 can learn to boat safely on Pleasant Hill Lake this summer. Students will take the Ohio Boating Education Course which is required by law for anyone born after 1982 to operate a power boat over 10 horsepower. They will also have hands on training in power boats, sailboats, canoes, kayaks, personal watercraft and pontoon boats. The classes are June 17, 24 July 1 and 8 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at Pleasant Hill Lake Park near Perrysville. To register call Mohican School at (419) 938-6671 or go to www. spiritofamerica95.org and click on the Mohican School stite to print out a form. You can also register in person at the North Central Ohio Safe Boating Festival on June 12 at Pleasant Hill Lake Park. Funds for this progran are provided by the National Water Safety Congress and the Spirit of America Foundation.
