Description
Small business leaders and local government officials will learn what cyber threats exist for the State of Ohio and what they can do to protect themselves during this fireside chat.
Speakers:

- Mark Bell, Cyber Security Outreach Coordinator at The Adjutant General's Department of Ohio
The Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development and The Ohio State University at Mansfield are collaborating on a fall 2024 speaker series designed to broaden the region’s awareness of development strategies to confront cybersecurity challenges while growing alongside our defense partner, the 179th Cyberspace Wing. Topics will include general awareness of state issues and approaches, potential strategies and approaches in cyber defense for businesses and local government, and growing a workforce ready for future challenges with cybersecurity.

About the Speakers
Mark Bell is the Cyber Security Outreach Coordinator for the Adjutant General’s Department of the State of Ohio. Mark coordinates a wide range of cyber partners throughout Ohio, organized into the Ohio Cyber Collaboration Committee. Mark is also the Chairman of the Ohio Cyber Range Institute’s Executive Committee which provides strategic oversight for the Ohio Cyber Range.
Kirk Herath is currently Governor Mike DeWine and Lt. Governor Jon Husted’s Cybersecurity Strategic Advisor and Chairman of CyberOhio, the State of Ohio’s Cybersecurity Advisory Board. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at both Ohio State’s Moritz School of law and Cleveland State’s Cleveland-Marshall Law School. He retired as VP, Associate General Counsel and Chief Privacy Officer for Nationwide after 32 years. Kirk is also a Principal at Pillars Consulting Group where his practice focuses on data protection organization design, privacy practices and cybersecurity law. He also focuses on mentoring the next generation of privacy, data governance and technology leaders.
