Description

One of the area's best and most historic golf courses will host this year's "Fore Our Kids Golf Classic" on Sunday, July 14. Golfers will love taking on the course at the Shelby Country Club, which opened back in 1928. The 6,500-yard, Par 72 course is situated on more than 130 acres of gently rolling terrain with picturesque views. Its well maintained tree-lined fairways and precise greens offer a challenging and visually appealing walking or riding experience while, excellent drainage and a progressive maintenance program provide an attractive setting to the teams competing in this year's scramble event. Additionally, you will not find house lined fairways, but an all natural walk through nature and a feeling of having an entire golf course to yourself. This is the golf experience at Shelby Country Club and one that Citizens for Children Services is proud to offer this year. Registration starts at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start in the scramble event is set for 1 p.m. The entry fee is $75 per person or $300 for a team of four. A $1,000 cash prize could be won with an ace at a Par 3 to be determined. You can also be a "Team Sponsor Plus" for $400, which includes a four-person team, green fees, cart, lunch, dinner AND a hole sponsorship. If you can't (or don't) golf, you can still get involved. We are looking for hole sponsors at $125 per hole. We need corporate sponsors for $1,000, which includes your company, agency or business logo and message in all pre-event publicity and at the course on the day of the event. To learn more or to sign up for the event, call 419-564-1848.
