Richland Pregnancy Services Annual Fundraising Banquet October 2, 2012 – Mansfield, Ohio – Richland Pregnancy Services (RPS), a Christ-centered medical clinic which empowers individuals to make informed choices when facing an unplanned pregnancy, will host their annual fundraising banquet on Thursday, November 15th and Friday, November 16th from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm each evening. This year marks the celebration of 25 years of RPS serving the Richland County area. Melissa Ohden, a survivor of a failed saline infusion abortion in 1977, will be this year's featured speaker. With a Master's Degree in Social Work, she has worked in the fields of substance abuse, mental health, domestic violence/sexual assault counseling, and child welfare. Melissa and her husband Ryan have a daughter, Olivia. Melissa was formerly a College Outreach Speaker with Feminists for Life, traveling to college campuses to share her story while advocating for resources and support for pregnant and parenting college students and advocating for the rights of the unborn. She now works with individuals and organizations across the U.S., Canada, and Australia, to raise awareness of the intergenerational impact of abortion on women, men, families and communities. Melissa has been featured on television and radio programs including: The 700 Club, EWTN's Life on the Rock and Defending Life, Fox News, Facing Life Head On, Focus on the Family, and American Family Radio. Her life and ministry is featured in the award winning pro-life documentary, ''A Voice for Life.'' All funds raised at the event will go to continue the work of Richland Pregnancy Services, offering free services to clients which includes pregnancy testing, limited obstetrical ultrasound, STD/STI testing, 24/7 telephone helpline, post-abortion Bible Study, parenting classes, Mom to Mom, Dad to Dad Mentoring and a boutique which provides expectant and new parents with needed clothing and nursery items.
