Description
For the first time in history, we have five different generations in the workforce (the Silent Generation, Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and now Generation Z); and much has been made of the varying personality traits and perspectives among them. But just what are these differences and how do they impact our society? This session will describe the differing perspectives and impacts of generational diversity within the workplace and among expanding markets. Material will be presented which proposes that generational diversity may have a more impactful influence upon marketing efforts than other demographic characteristics.
As a participant you will be able to describe the differences among the generations in today's workforce while developing communication and mentoring strategies for intergenerational team building.
A follow-up discussion on the book "Managing Generation Z: How to Recruit, Onboard, Develop, and Retain the Newest Generation in the Workplace" by Robin Paggi and Kat Clowes will take place virtually on Jan. 18 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. The book is not included with your registration, but the follow up session is. You may order the book here.
