SUMMARY:Women's Leadership Connection - Embrace Being Uncomfortable: The Practice of Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone
DESCRIPTION:Formerly Lunch WISE Wednesday\, this series exclusively for women is being hosted by the Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development. Each month we'll have a time of powerful networking\, a motivational "TED-type" talk\, as well as a chance to learn more about your community. We look forward to having you join us!\n\n\n\nEmbrace Being Uncomfortable: The Practice of Stepping Outside Your Comfort Zone\n\nWe've all heard quotes that proclaim growth and magic happen outside our comfort zones. However\, the truth is that it's often intimidating and overwhelming to initiate a new journey. We may be unsure where to start or how to summon the courage. Chris is going to share her experience with pushing herself to grow personally and professionally in the last 12 months using techniques learned in Kristen Butler's book\, "The Comfort Zone: Create a Life You Really Love with Less Stress and More Flow." She will help you identify the difference between your Complacent Zone\, your Survival Zone\, and your Comfort Zone. Plus\, the steps necessary to move and expand into new waters with confidence and success.\n\n \n\nMeet our speaker:\n\n\n\nChristen Dingess has a passion for leadership and personal development. Her career encompasses roles in human resources\, business development\, marketing\, and sales management with over 20 years in executive leadership at MT Business Technologies and Schmidt Security Pro. After graduating from the Richland Area Chamber's Leadership Unlimited Program in 2022\, Chris has been on a mission to expand outside of her bubble and welcome new opportunities. Within the last 12 months\, she has taken on the mantra to "Embrace Being Uncomfortable." This has resulted in public speaking engagements\, giving up alcohol for 9+ months\, participating in a 200-mile relay race through New Hampshire\, launching an Instagram account dedicated to her journey\, and a constant pursuit of fresh experiences.\n\nChris and her husband Joe live in Lexington\, while their 3 grown children have spread to Florida\, Texas\, and Missouri. She enjoys traveling and spending as much time as possible with her 2 grandsons.\n\n\n\n\n\nThank you Altrusa of Mansfield for sponsoring this event!
