He joined the United States Attorney's Office in 2008 and worked as an Assistant United States Attorney in the General Crimes\, Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force\, and National Security and Cyber units. \n\n\n\nMr. Riedl specializes in cases involving ransomware\, malware\, terrorism and theft of intellectual property. He is the lead attorney on several complex cyber matters including the Trickbot malware case\, which resulted in the conviction of two Trickbot programmers and sanctions in the United States and United Kingdom against eleven Trickbot actors. \n\n\n\nBefore becoming an Assistant United States Attorney\, Mr. Riedl served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Franklin County\, Ohio\, and a Special Prosecutor for the Ohio Attorney General's Office. He received his Juris Doctor degree from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law in 2003 and a Bachelor of Arts in Government and International Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2000.\n\n\n\nPilot Program:\n\nThe Ohio Cybersecurity for Small Business Pilot Program by The Ohio State University\, aimed at helping small businesses identify cybersecurity threats\, respond to cybercrimes\, and develop resilient infrastructure. \n\nCybersecurity: Thinking Globally\, Working Locally Series\n\nThe Richland Area Chamber & Economic Development and The Ohio State University at Mansfield are collaborating on a fall 2024 speaker series designed to broaden the region's awareness of development strategies to confront cybersecurity challenges while growing alongside our defense partner\, the 179th Cyberspace Wing.
