The purpose of A Field of Monsters is to encourage the creation of art derived from monsters and start community conversations. Purchase a landscape or other type of painting that looks like it needs a monster in it. (The cheesier\, the better. Google "monster landscapes" for inspiration.) Your name and contact information must also accompany your entry.\n All pieces must be framed and ready to hang with wire hangers. The committee holds the right to deny a submission if it is deemed offensive.\n Please be conscious of the price point you are setting. Topics include: The Monster-The Myth\, Social Aspects of Monsters\, The Monster Within\, Perceived Monsters\, and Monsters in Media (comics\, film\, literature\, etc.) Speakers include Dr. Steven Joyce\, Dr. Dawn Kitchen\, Dr. Phil Mazzocco\, Dr. Christopher Howard\, and Dr. Stan Jefferson. Each presenter will have 5-7 minute to present about monsters and how they relate to their field of study. After that\, presenters will take questions from the audience. Mary Frankenfield\, Deputy Director of the Mansfield/Richland County Public Library will MC the event.
