DESCRIPTION:Join us this month to hear Colonel Allison Miller reflect on her journey as a female leader in the military and how she balances her work with being a mother.\n\n\n\n\n\n \nColonel Allison Miller is currently assigned as the Director of Safety\, Air National Guard (ANG). She is responsible for managing all ANG Ground\, Flight\, Weapons\, and Space Safety programs for 90 flying and mission support units encompassing over 105\,700 members. Col Miller is the principal advisor to the Director\, ANG and the ANG Readiness Center Commander for all safety issues to include any ANG Safety matter\, and those related to Headquarters Air Force\, AF Safety Center\, the USAF Inspector General\, and all gaining MAJCOMs. She provides guidance and assistance to all ANG field units regarding the development\, interpretation\, and implementation of policies\, directives\, instructions and procedures. She is responsible for providing assistance and coordination on all development of AF safety policy as it affects the ANG.\n\nColonel Miller joined the Alabama Air National Guard in 1996 and was commissioned through the Academy of Military Science\, Knoxville\, Tennessee in 1997\, earning her commission as a distinguished graduate. Prior to assuming her current position\, Col Miller served as the Chief of Wing Safety for the 117Air Refueling Wing (ARW) and the Chief of Scheduling for the 106Air Refueling Squadron (ARS)\, executing 1900+ local flying training hours yearly\, accomplishing 22\,000+ training events\, ensuring 80 106th and 99th ARS members maintained their mission ready status. Col Miller is a KC-135R instructor pilot and also served as the 117ARW Command Post Officer and the Squadron Flying Safety Officer for the 106ARS. She has served in Operations NOBLE EAGLE\, ENDURING FREEDOM\, IRAQI FREEDOM\, NEW DAWN\, INHERENT RESOLVE\, and sat Alpha Alert in support of Homeland Defense.\n\nIn 2011\, Col Miller transitioned from traditional guardsman and commercial airline pilot to Active Guard Reserve in the Alabama Air National Guard. Colonel Miller is a decorated pilot with a diverse background comprised of over 2300 military flying hours (including 400 combat hours) and 3000 civilian flying hours.\n\n\n\nThis collaborative  series exclusively for women is being co-hosted by the Richland Area Chamber of Commerce\, Mind Body Align\, and the Small Business Development Center at Ashland University.  Each month we'll have a time of powerful networking\, a motivational "TED-type" talk as well as a chance to learn more about your community.  We look forward to having you join us!
